It's Snowing in the East Coast!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 10/30/2011 01:04:00 AM in ,,| 0 comments

Snow arrived in the East Coast of the U.S. (New York and Philadelphia) this Saturday - and surprised many who were not anticipating it yet. The surprise quickly made it's way through twitter (what other way, is there?) and re-tweeted numerous times over. Definitely kept my timeline busy! :)

The day before, Colorado experienced some snow as well and I've gotta say, when snow has arrived, before long, it's gonna look a lot like Christmas! :) I daresay the snow is your cue to order your invitationbox.com christmas cards. Hurry up! Be an early bird and don't hold out to do it last minute!

However, weather forecasts have predicted clear skies on Sunday -- clear enough for the MLS Cup Playoffs to go off without a hitch! :) So American soccer fans, need not worry about that! Forecasts call for temperatures in the low-40s, so that's still pretty bearable. I'm sure many aren't looking forward to the snowfall like what they experienced last winter in New York a snowstorm broke New York's 86-year-old record for January snowfall.

With that being said, it's time to dig out your winter clothes, garb yourselves and keep yourself warm!

What's Your Dream Car?

Posted by Shemah Sham | 10/21/2011 11:58:00 PM in ,| 0 comments

I've been checking out a lot of car roadshows lately and even though I don't drive, I sort of feel the anticipation of owning my first car. I know, it's not going to happen anytime soon but I can't help it after checking out all these awesome cars.

I know my blogging buddy, Bella is dreaming about an Audi R8 and my kid sister thinks a VW Passat is really cool. I'm still undecided. I don't drive and I'm so not a "car" girl. I mean, there's no way a guy can ever charm me just by telling me what car he drives. I don't know why, but when I was single, a lot of guys thought that telling what car they drive means anything to me. It so doesn't. Even if they say they have a Rockford Fosgate Subwoofer amp installed in their car.

Anyways, I'm planning to get my act together and start driving next year.. so until I do, I won't be stressing out on getting a car just yet.

Shari's Berries, anyone?

Posted by Shemah Sham | 10/14/2011 04:43:00 PM in ,| 0 comments

A famous local singer here in Malaysia by the name of Siti Nurhaliza, once told the media that one thing that attracted her to her husband was the way he wooed her with chocolate covered strawberries and expensive gourmet chocolates!

So the old adage of "the way through a man's heart is through his stomach" should really be changed to "the way through ANYONE's heart is through their stomach". Maybe not everyone could be bribed with food, but I definitely am one of those people.

Chocolates are one of those gifts that never fail. Over the years, there have been trends of cupcakes, donuts, etc as gifts, but chocolates are one gift that is always welcome in any home. Even for that fitness buff who claims not to eat sugar anymore. Deep down, they're just waiting to pounce on it!

Shari's Berries provides a delicacy of chocolate covered berries that are just simply delicious according to testimonials of it's returning customers. I don't know why berries just taste so good with chocolate.

Anyways, for those husbands who are worked up over not knowing what gift to give their wives, lemme just say, send birthday gift for your wife online via Shari's Berries and take the children off her hand for one day.. or maybe even two. Send her to a 2 day stay at a spa, coupled with these delicacies and she'll be the happiest woman alive. I know I would be.

Personalized Gift Ideas

I'm not really creative when it comes to giving gifts. It's easy when the people I give gifts to, are my loved ones because I know them so well and I know what they like and dislike, and also because I can pour my heart into it. I love giving personalized gifts because they're one of a kind and it's something that your friends and family will always remember you by.

However, when it comes to acquaintances, I'm almost always at a dead end when it comes to buying gifts. I want to give them something personalized but sometimes the nature of the relationship just makes it hard to give something personalized when you're not even close to that person. But then again, if you'd like to avoid having your presents be re-wrapped and re-gifted by someone, personalized gifts are the way to go.

For weddings or housewarmings, there are lots of ideas you can work around with -- make it personalized but not too intimate a gift -- just perfect for an acquaintance, colleague, etc.

Here are a couple of gift ideas that you might want to consider.

Personalized towels. Perfect for housewarmings and weddings. People just can't get enough of fresh towels, my late grandmother once told me. It's always needed around the house.

Personalized Pajama Sets. This is normally reserved for those "closer" to you but still tasteful to give a his and hers personalized pajama set for a wedding gift. Save the naughty negligees for your closest girlfriends.

Personalized Pillowcases. These are fun and innocent enough to give to anyone and turns a normal boring pillowcase into something unique.

Personalized Glasses/Wine Stems/Champagne Flutes. Whoever you give this to will be delighted in having spectacular glasses to serve their guests with. They might even feel compelled to personalize their whole china set.

Personalized Rugs. Pretty cool gift, if you ask me. Every house needs a rug, so why not make it as personal as you can?

Personalized Drink Cooler Tub. I think this is one of the best things to give for a housewarming party. This drink cooler tub will definitely be put to use every single time your friend makes a party and impressing fellow guests as well and it's a gift that can be kept for a very long time.

Small Business Equipment Lease

Posted by Shemah Sham | 10/03/2011 12:13:00 AM in ,| 0 comments

If you're looking to run a small business but don't have the capital to purchase brand new equipment, you might want to consider taking an equipment lease for small businesses.

Over at FivePointCapital.com, you'll be able to apply for a small business equipment lease that fits your business's needs. They also provide two, three, four, and five year lease terms on most transactions as well as many different types of equipment lease programs from $5,000 to $100,000. The equipment leased is for any new or used equipment, work trucks, and/or software and just as long as it is not going to be resold and it is not disposable and/or consumable, it may qualify for an equipment lease.

Also, one need not worry about this lease affecting their personal credit because this equipment lease differs from a bank loan. Your equipment lease will not show as a trade line on your personal credit report! That's one thing less to worry about, right? Besides that, you can also include ‘soft costs’ such as delivery, training and installation in your total loan amount.

So, all businessmen and businesswomen out there, this is one option you must check out!
