The annual Shape magazine's Shape Night Run 2011 will be held on 30th July 2011 at Putrajaya. (Registration is already closed, by the way).
I've been training diligently so that I can join the fun run which is only a 5km run. But I've never ran 2km in my life before so to complete a 5km run is something that I can't wait to conquer.
During one of my training sessions a couple of weeks ago, I managed to finish a 5km in 42 mins which is really really slow. But then again, I'm just glad that I managed to run non stop and managed to finish in my own time.
However, I'm so bummed that despite my training, I won't be able to join this year. I sort of neglected the fact that the race is on 30th July 2011 which is the day before we Muslims start fasting month. The race is at night which means that most of us Muslims will be starting the terawih prayers already. The hubs really won't be happy with me if I chose to run anyway.
So, as much as I'd like to join, I've got to skip this one and perhaps just wait for another race in the future.
As losing weight goes, running is one of the best fat burners that cost nothing at all. I have lost about 6-7kgs since I started training but I'm still looking to lose more fat and dropping a couple more dress sizes. So good luck to me! :P
