Summer SALE at Pottery Barn!

There's a summer sale going on right now at Pottery Barn with discounts up to 50%. If I had the money, I would so import all my stuff from Pottery Barn.. forget IKEA. Pottery Barn is just too awesome. Since I have quite a small apartment, I can't have bulky furniture and I need to get stuff that really optimizes what little space that I have.

I also don't have my own office room here at home where I do my work and spend my time online. Instead, I'm situated near the living room area. So right now, I'm dying to get these wall organizer mounts from Pottery Barn.

I think they're absolutely perfect for my abode right now. But since we can't get Pottery Barn over here in Malaysia, I guess I'll have to find substitutes for now.

Group Health Plans for Small Businesses

Posted by Shemah Sham | 6/25/2010 12:36:00 AM in | 0 comments

I have been thinking about setting up my own business for a while now. I initially planned to start an online business and if it goes well, I'd love to set up my own company, one day. It's always been a dream of mine and I do believe I have a knack for it.

However, there's a lot of things to look into when building a company or a small business. Getting workers are the least of your problems because nowadays there are many recruitment agencies that can help you out with that. What's more important is getting the administration side of your business set up well. Don't forget that workers do need their insurance and health benefits. So if you're looking into a small business group health plan, I found a site online that can help you out there.

At Netquote, you can actually get a group health plan quote and see whether it fits into your company budget and see how affordable it actually is for you. Nowadays, many employers have skimped out on health and insurance benefits but I believe you've gotta give before you can receive.

You'll have happy workers and in turn a business that is fronted by happy workers will thrive even in this economical slump. It's not a promise but it certainly is a win-win situation.

If one day my dream does come true and I do manage to set up my own company or business, I would most likely get group health online with Netquote.

Deals on Wheels!

I'm not a car person. I can't even drive. That much you should know about me. I've mentioned previously how the husband is a car enthusiast, right? Well, yeah, he is. He has his old Fiat parked at my mother-in-law's place in hopes of one day getting it done ala "Wheelers Dealers".

Anyways, recently we got a new car (the old one got stolen). I personally feel that cars should be left alone just like the time you bought it. No more modifications needed. The husband (like every other guy) thinks differently. No, he doesn't plan to add wings or spoilers, fluorescent lights or whatever on it, but I do know that he would love to have the rims and tires changed.

Really, I don't understand why men can't just leave their cars alone! Maybe it's like how women buy outfits and positively needs more accessories to go with their outfits. I just hope he doesn't plan to get those spinning rim types. I don't know if that's what it's called, but I recently saw a car like that and I could swear that every time the sun rays caught in the spinning rim, it was like having my eyes directly flashed with a torchlight.

I'm not exactly opposed to having the car rims changed but although I might not know much about cars, one thing I DO know is -- car rims and tires are very very expensive! Which is why, if he wants to get his wheels done, he should try his darnedest to find discount wheels!

As for now, though, I'd rather save money for a vacation or to move to a bigger house (ours is rather small) rather than getting a new set of rims and tires. It'll drive me positively crazy if we were to spend money on tires and rims when the ones we have now, is perfectly fine and working. Really.. am I being unreasonable?

Wake up it's a beautiful morning!! The school holidays are over and it's back to early mornings, cranky children and traffic jams! That being said, here's a little pick me up to rid us all of the Monday blues..

Definitely one to keep you bouncing in your steps and raise your spirits, here's The Boo Radleys with Wake Up!

When this was first released back in '95, this was practically a theme song for my mornings before going to school. So I hope it sets the tone for your day and also make it a good start for the rest of the week. Happy Music Monday, everyone! :D

Sell Back Your Books!

Ever had to spring clean your room or house only to find that books are one of the main source of clutter around your house? I don't know about you but that's definitely my biggest problem. Another even bigger problem is that I love reading and I just don't have the heart to throw them out -- even though I know that I won't even be reading them again. Take textbooks for instance. Boxes and boxes of them are just collecting dust in the storage room.

I know I could always recycle them and some place will pay you per every kg that you bring in to recycle, but the hoarder in me just thinks that all those books could be put to better use. Which is why I literally jumped for joy when I found a site where they accept textbook trade ins.

All you have to do is enter the ISBN numbers for your books and they will process it and the price quotes will appear. It's pretty cool! And what's really awesome is that they will also reimburse you for the shipping costs! However, before you start selling the books, read the FAQ on the website to see if your books fit their criteria.
