Think Vegas, and what immediately pops into my mind?? FUN! A couple of years back, a family friend went to Vegas on a series of stops during their vacation in the U.S. and since they don't gamble, they found Vegas to be the least of their favorite destinations.
If I were in Vegas right now, I can think of already 10 amazing things at the top of my head that has nothing to do with casinos and gambling. And ELVIS impersonators. But then again, that's Vegas for you! Anyways, back to my point.. first of all, if you're into retail therapy (and who isn't??), Las Vegas shopping can pretty much beat the streets of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills!
The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace is a 560,000-square-foot shopping experience brings fantasy to life. High-end stores such as Kate Spade, Judith Leiber, and Coach coexist among such top-rated restaurants as Sushi Roku and Boa Steakhouse.
Even the recent Miss USA pageant that saw 24-year old
Rima Fakih, an Arab-American from Michigan taking the coveted prize, was also held in the glitzy city of Las Vegas. Why not, right?
Las Vegas beauty care is one of the countries finest.. and with such a prestigious pageant like Miss USA, I'm sure the
Las Vegas salons are also one of the best!
Anyways, my point is, not everyone is a gambler and a trip to Vegas offers much more. My
top ten things to do in Vegas (that doesn't involve gambling), are:
1) Shopping
2)
Cirque Du Soleil at MGM Grand
3)
Lance Burton Master Magician at the Monte Carlo Las Vegas for kid-friendly magic shows.
4)
Madame Tussauds Interactive Wax Museum at The Venetian allows you to “interact” with your favorite celebrities
5) For adult and kid fun,
visit the roller coasters at New York-New York, the Stratosphere Tower and Casino as well as the Adventuredome, a 5.5-acre indoor amusement park at Circus Circus Casino.
6)
Wine and dine at The Bellagio -- with over 13 award winning restaurant to choose from, is there any other reason not to?
7)
Extreme Skydiving at Las Vegas Extreme Skydiving in Jean, Nevada.
8) A
stroll down "the Strip" a.k.a. Las Vegas Boulevard -- A couple of choice stops are at the Mirage for its signature volcano, which erupts every fifteen minutes in good weather, and at the Treasure Island for the epic pirate battle. The battle takes place every 90 minutes starting at 4 p.m. and although it's a brief showdown, it's a helluva fight.
9) Check out
Barry Manilow, Bette Midler or
Cher, perhaps??
10) The best $15.00 you will spend in Las Vegas ($10 for seniors 65+) is at the
Liberace Museum!
So who says you need to gamble to have fun?? I wish I was able to tell our family friend about all these activities before they left!
