Dream Home Updated!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 3/28/2010 02:01:00 PM in ,| 0 comments

I am now currently chatting with my online buddy, Debbie, and we are talking dream houses and interior designs.. We are exchanging ideas and views on what we like and how we'd want to decorate our "dream homes".. everything from sofas to roofing, we are discussing it all!

Some of you might have remembered my dream house plan, right? I love the roofing for this plan, don't you? I love how a rustic roofing pattern can really bring out the character of the house. I'm pretty sure the guys at Ondura.com will be able to create this type of roofing too. They do everything from commercial, agricultural, residential and even environmentally preferred roofing as well.

Anyways, Debbie just shared this picture that she found online (below).. and it just fits the idea that I had in my mind for the interior!!

Now I know I won't be able to sleep well tonight because I'll be dreaming about building my perfect dream home!

Car Restoration Dream

Posted by Shemah Sham | 3/28/2010 01:16:00 PM in | 0 comments

Ever since watching an episode of Wheeler Dealers, the hubs has been talking non-stop about wanting to restore his 1979 Fiat 132-2000 back to it's former glory.

As I said before and I will say again any car talk is foreign language to me. The husband has the original Dohc Lancia engine so we won't need to search for used engines but what he does need is some used auto parts and according to him, he also needs to check out
I know he secretly dreams of Edd China from Wheeler Dealers fixing up his Fiat but that's just what it is. A dream. Besides, I'm not sure a car restoration is in our budgets right now.. sedih Poor hubs.

Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris performed a duet of “Hallelujah” with Charlie Sexton on guitar in a live performance broadcast worldwide during the “Hope for Haiti Now” charity telethon on January 22, 2010. Written by singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen and released on his 1984 studio album Various Positions, the song reportedly took a year to write and includes 80 available verses and at least two wholly original renditions. I hope you guys enjoy this rendition.. Happy Music Monday, everyone.

The Wheeler Dealer Fan

As I've written recently on my personal blog, I am not a car person. I don't drive and I don't know anything much to do with cars. My husband on the other hand is a car enthusiast. He loves cars and he is absolutely in love with vintage cars as well. Back in HIS hometown, he keeps an old Fiat 132-2000 which is stripped down to the frame. He still has the Lancia engine and the original "cromodora" rims in hopes of restoring it back to it's glory one fine day. doa

Fiat 132-2000

So it's no wonder that one of his favorite shows these days (that he makes me watch with him - and that I enjoy) is Wheeler Dealers on the Discovery Turbo channel. Basically what host Mike Brewer and his handy mechanic, the giant Edd China, does is, they buy old cars and restore it back to it's prime, before selling it back to make some profit. It's pretty much a UK Pimp My Ride but minus the LCD TV screen and the bling. encem

Wheeler Dealer team - Mike Brewer (R) and Edd China (L)

Watching the series makes my husband even more car crazy than ever, though. Last month, he watched a Wheeler Dealers re-run episode that showed the WD team restoring a Jeep CJ-7. Host Mike Brewers has said that it's super rare to find a decent CJ-7. But they DID manage to find a really out of use, rusty CJ-7 and managed to restore it into a beauty.

The restored Wheeler Dealers Jeep CJ-7

Here in Malaysia, it's really rare as well. Even if you are lucky and manage to get your hands on a vintage jeep here, I doubt that jeep accessories are easy to find.

Even with that in mind, I know that the hubs is not giving up his dream on his Fiat or a Jeep anytime soon. He did mention that even if he can't find a Jeep CJ-7, he doesn't mind settling for an off road Land Rover. Where did he get that idea?

Well, from this evening's episode of Wheeler Dealer of course. adus

Image representing Facebook as depicted in Cru...

One reason why I'm not really into Facebook is because I don't want to get sucked into the whole game obsession like Farmville, Cafe World, etc. It's enough that I have 4 blogs to write on and have 2 active kids running around the house.. because once I'm addicted, I get truly addicted.

I played Burger Shop once for 2 days straight without sleeping. Luckily for me, I didn't end up with carpal tunnel syndrome over that. However, sometimes I do want to give in to temptation and try a new game or two.. and maybe even try those Free Online Casino games! I know my blogging buddy Marzie enjoys her online slot machines quite a bit! ihikhik

I've never tried it before, though, and I've only been to a casino once in my life before - at the Crown Casino in Melbourne. But since I'm the world's unluckiest person when it comes to card games, I didn't want to even try my hand at poker or blackjack.

Maybe with the new Resort World Casino that just recently opened in Singapore, I might give it a go with my girlfriends when we go there this coming May. For those who can't go, you can always check out the online casinos.. I heard there are lots of sites that lists down the Best Online Casino for your convenience.

But remember, whether it's real life gambling or whether you're Gambling Online, you should always always always practice responsible gaming. You can google it to find out more about it and how you can practice it.

As for myself, I'm just trying to curb my gaming addictions as it is! It doesn't matter whether it's an online game, or just a simple solitaire card game on the PC, or even MINESWEEPER, I need to really manage my time playing games and not get carried away! If I don't, I think I'm in need for gaming rehab!!

I Need New Headphones!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 3/21/2010 01:32:00 AM in | 0 comments

The place where I'm staying is undergoing major construction. (Luckily they're not using asbestos or we'll have a Mesothelioma Cancer lawsuit "Erin Brokovich" style over here!) Anyways, it's a fairly new building and most people are refurbishing/reconstructing their units. I'm glad it's Sunday tomorrow so that I won't be awaken so early with the sounds of drills and hammers and what nots.

If I had extra "kaching" right now, I'll get myself the highest degree of noise cancelling/noise reduction headphones to drown out all other noises!! Something like Bose's QuietComfort® 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones.

The features are:
  • High-performing noise reduction headphones for travel, work and home
  • Enjoy your music and movies even more, with clear and lifelike sound
  • Comfortable and lightweight on-ear fit
  • Rechargeable lithium-ion battery and charger included
  • Fold-flat earcups for easy storage in slim carrying case
  • Powered by just one rechargeable battery, you can enjoy noise-reducing music up to 25 straight hours (per charge).
It does come at a hefty price of GBP275, though.. *sigh* Guess like yours truly just has to deal with the construction noises after all..

    My Work Vision!

    Posted by Shemah Sham | 3/20/2010 06:13:00 AM in ,,| 0 comments

As you may know by now.. I spend a lot of my time working online. Between maintaining 4 blogs and keeping my kids happy, I really need some good office furniture to get my work done because I'm getting aches and pains just from my chair now. I'm currently just using my dining room chair to work on and it's as stiff as a.. well, I don't need to complete that sentence.

Honestly, I don't want just another chair. I want the Vision One Computer Station. Then I'll get it upgraded to a Porsche leather bucket seat like the picture above. Ooohhh.. this would be my work heaven. The Flagship model shown starts at $2600 and includes support for three flat-screen displays, provides superb elbow support, an adjustable foot rest, surround sound speaker brackets, and not to mention a bad-ass look!

    The Price of Beauty

    Posted by Shemah Sham | 3/20/2010 05:34:00 AM in ,| 0 comments

Ever wonder if you happened to hit the motherlode and get a bazillion dollars (that would be enough to carry well into your 90s), whether you would still buy the same products as a struggling-make-ends-meet person? Would you still buy the same face wrinkle cream that you'd find at the drugstore for a mere $9.99? Or would you spend indulgently on these luxury skin products?

The Cream by Kanebo - €595

Said to be able to repair your skin DNA by using an extract from a Japanese seaweed called gigartina tenella. Also contains saffron oil for dermal healing. (whatever that means!) This smoky-quartz colored jar holds 1.4oz of cream.

    Ageless 15 by Cellex - €750

Joan Collins being the face of Cellex and giving Botox a wide berth is saying something. This anti-aging serum is a favorite for celebrities like Uma Thurman, Julia Roberts and Renee Zellweger. Through a compound of hyaluron acid, sugar molecules and anti-oxidizing substances such as tannin and plant derivatives, Cellex-C’s AgeLess 15 serum signals to tired skin cells that they should behave like their younger counterparts. (Sounds kooky, I know!)

Jeweled Skin Caviar Luxury Cream by La Prairie - €2000 (refill for €330)

Limited to only 650 jars, this 2,400 Swarovski crystal encrusted (by hand) jar contains a cream of caviar extract that helps stimulate the production of collagen in the skin, giving it more vitality and guarding against tired lines. Malic acid removes rough skin, while arnica and marigold extracts strengthen the skin against irritations.

The Essence by La Mer - €2115

From the same line of the epic "Creme de La Mer" that was a craze a in the 2000s... comes another "fountain of youth" essence serum. This youth elixier called “The Essence” is the latest and most expensive of the La Mer series and, in a three-week regimen, makes the skin glow like a newborn’s.

The three emerald-green phials contain the “Miracle Broth,” a combination of seaweed, minerals, vitamin and wheat germ, marine algae and the essence of daffodil bulbs. The three glass phials in the transparent container even has a magnetic field keeps the youth elixir charged with energy. And you thought that "Creme de La Mer" was expensive?

So will you or won't you??

Btw, these products were listed among the World's Most Expensive Beauty Products. So, no.. I don't think it'll get any more pricier than that.. but then again, we never know? Someone might come up with a confection of gold and truffles and pink diamond dust to lather on your face that will cost you half of your bazillion dollars! Anything is possible in this mad mad world!

    Mints Galore!

    Posted by Shemah Sham | 3/19/2010 01:09:00 PM in ,| 0 comments

I'm not a big fan of candy.. It's not that I don't like candy. I do.. but it's not something that I normally crave for. But mints, I love. I usually have a supply of breath mints in my bag. For me the breath factor comes in second.. I love it for the minty cool taste!

Anyways, I saw these Cupcake Mints and I love it. It's so cute and apparently it really does taste and smell like cupcakes.

This Cupcake Tin contains 130 cupcake mints! Definitely something you can pop in your mouth non-stop! (Just don't do the same with your hgh pills! It won't make you younger any faster mmmkayy??)

Anyhoo, if these Cupcake mints are your cup of cake tea, here's something you guys would probably enjoy.. The Resident Evil Outbreak mints, or these rotten brain flavored Zombie Mints!

    Benefits of Colon Cleansing

    Posted by Shemah Sham | 3/19/2010 09:41:00 AM in ,| 0 comments

If you're feeling sluggish, tired, suddenly having bad skin problems, feeling bloated, then I suggest that you go to your nearest pharmacy and get yourself a herbal or organic colon cleanser. If your colon walls are covered with plaque-like toxins substances, the harder it is for your body to absorb essential nutrients that your body needs. Basically it's like a clogged pipe. So no matter what supplements you take, if your body isn't able to soak up or absorb all those good nutrients, you won't be getting the benefits of your supplements.

With a clean colon, the absorption of nutrients will cause you to have higher energy levels, good skin and an overall healthier body. It can also reduce constipation as well as prevent against colon cancer. So, if you haven't cleansed your colon in a while, I suggest you do!

If You Want Cats To Love You!

    Posted by Shemah Sham | 3/19/2010 01:53:00 AM in ,,| 0 comments

Ever since I started blogging, I have stumbled  upon many many blogs that center around their  pets. Cats mostly. There are a lot of cat ladies out there and that includes my dear blogging buddies, LadyJava and Mariuca. They have adorable pet cats who also blog, at BloggerCats and MeowDiaries, respectively.

Now for cat people like LJ and Marzie, I'm sure they have no problem around kitty cats and they naturally have the charm to make cats like them. But if you're nothing like them and have no cat charisma at all but would LOVE to keep a pet cat, let me recommend you this:

The Crazy Cat Lady Cat Food Scented Soap.

Yep. The product name says it all. It's a soap that smells like cat food so that cats will be attracted to you. Although from the looks of it, I don't recommend you using it on your face.. it doesn't look like the most promising natural acne remedy around. But hey, if it works for you, who am I to judge right?

The soap retails at $5.95 and can be bought here

    Take Cover with Home Insurance!

    Posted by Shemah Sham | 3/19/2010 01:24:00 AM in ,| 0 comments

My home back in KK is one of the places where I feel truly at ease and where I consider to be my safe haven. Every single worry or stress is erased when I go back. Even my son feels that way about it too because that's where he was born and spent most of his life at. My husband too loves going back because life in the city can just get too stressful at times.

However, I do realize that any home can be your safe haven as long as you've got home insurance coverage. I know that some people don't find it important to get their house covered but you'd never know what will happen.

With all these earthquakes and natural disasters happening almost every month of the year, you should definitely look into getting a homeowners insurance coverage that does cover natural disasters such as fire, flood, hurricane, tornadoes, mudslides, etc. Also, you need to educate yourself more about home insurance coverage, because you might be covered from damage by rain, but it is not the same as damage by flooding and high winds - as in the case of Hurricane Katrina.

Some states such as Texas are known for it's natural disasters, like tornadoes, hurricanes and flooding. So homeowners might want to look deeper into what is covered in your Texas home insurance. I know that all these natural disasters and occurrences are in God's hands but on your part, you can always work hard to protect your life, your family and future.. and if it means protecting yourself through insurance coverage, well, why not?

    Butter Stick!

    Posted by Shemah Sham | 3/19/2010 12:41:00 AM in ,,| 0 comments

What do you guys think of the butter stick? Yay or Nay? I'm saying yay to this one! Can you imagine going on a picnic and packing up a slab of butter and having it all melt when you take it out. It's such a hassle.. But this? It's so convenient! I definitely won't mind having one. Especially as seeing how my children just loooove butter!

I just hope my kids don't mistake it for my cocoa butter chapstick! Btw, cocoa butter is a pretty good wrinkle remover they say.. I wonder if it just works with butter - without the cocoa?? Hmm..

    Chris Pirillo Loves Me!

Okay.. I can't get enough of that site I was talking about in my personal blog.. Photofunia. It's so fun! You can check out the Harry Potter one I did of me with the whole WANTED poster printing thingy.. It's so much fun that I made another photofunia pic!

Basically, this site just allows you to upload pictures so they can auto superimpose your face onto whatever pictures via face detection! It's pretty fun to mess around with actually. I even did one where Chris Pirillo just absolutely loves me! He has me on his screensaver!

For those of you who want to have a picture with Jacob Black or Edward Cullen, hope on over here!

In Search For The Perfect Gift

    Posted by Shemah Sham | 3/16/2010 01:16:00 PM in ,| 0 comments

The husband's birthday is next week. March 23rd, to be exact. I've been racking my brains these past few weeks to find something that he would really really like but I just couldn't come up with the perfect gift... UNTIL about a minute ago.

2 things my husband is passionate about (excluding me and the children) is fishing and cigars. I know he could do with fishing equipment but I know if I got him THAT, then he'll be wanting to test it out every off day he gets.. and to be honest, I'm selfish.. and I want him to spend time with ME on his off days. :D

So that leaves me with cigars. I know he could really do with a nice cigar case, and I saw this really cool Bally IV Glass Top Humidor cigar case that he could fill his Dutch Master cigars with. It retails for $59.99 and they do accept PayPal but I just don't think it'll reach in time. *sigh* Maybe I can find something here?? Anyone knows a good cigar store here in KL?

    Samsung Bada$$!

    Posted by Shemah Sham | 3/11/2010 01:35:00 PM in | 0 comments

My phone is literally falling apart by the minute. The back cover is opens up with the slightest jostle and the camera phone is not working and let's be honest, my Nokia is not the smartest phone out there. So anyways, the Samsung S8500 Wave Bada looks pretty bada$$.

Check out the article from TechnoChase.
Bada is Samsung’s own brand of smartphone OS which has the same multiple homescreen layout like the iPhone or Android with some modifications on its interface. Aside from the Bada platform, the Samsung Wave has been quoted to have a 3.3 Super AMOLED that is geared on outdoor visibility to provide a more vivid touchscreen. It is also expected to have 1GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, 720p video recording capacity, 2GB of internal storage plus a microSD slot. Other features include a built in 802.11n Wi-Fi, HSDPA, Touchwiz 3.0, Divx player and a 3mm audio jack. Technochasers can grasp a more thorough and conclusive details of the Samsung Wave on its official revelation which is expected to take place at the Mobile World Congress. Can Samsung build up mobile experience with their first Bada OS phone?

However, I'm not very familiar with Samsung.. I don't know.. hmm..

    All hail the DUDE!!

Jeff Bridges finally took home an Oscar this year for his role as Bad Blake - a "down-on-his-luck, alcoholic country music singer" in the movie, Crazy Heart. From the moment I watched the Crazy Heart trailer, I knew that Alex Billington @ FirstShowing.net was right. This role would garner him an Oscar nod for Best Actor.

Well, not only did he get that nod, Jeff Bridges took home the golden statue as well!

So for this week's Music Monday, I decided to feature the song featured in the Crazy Heart movie trailer, "The Weary Kind" which was performed by Ryan Bingham and co-written with T Bone Burnett. However, here in this vid, Jeff Bridges, the man of the hour, will be performing "The Weary Kind".
    Enjoy!!

    And...here we go!

    1. Why are you making such a big deal out of nothing AND making me decide things for YOU?

    2. I want you to take that crazy idea of yours and shove it up to the place where the sun don't shine.

    3. I also might move my Just Press Play and The Accidental Fashionista blog out of Today.com to their own platform (like Debbs and Bill), at least then it will be on my terms.

    4. There's just so many things going on right now, though, so I'll have to wait and see what happens.

    5. I could use a full load crate of money right now.

    6. I would like to go on another outing with Debbs and then have some good food at DELIcious..

    7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to working on my new blog template, tomorrow my plans include catching up on the Best Picture Oscar nomination movies (that I haven't watched) and Sunday, I want to go to the Glam Street Fashion Bazaar!
