The 8th of November will mark the first anniversary of our home. To be honest, though, during this whole year, nothing much has changed ever since we moved in. Besides bringing in the furniture, I haven't really spent time with my home decor.. like photo frames, or paintings and all that. The wall is still bare and I didn't even bother repainting it.
Well, mostly because it's a rented unit and we're not planning to be staying/renting here forever so until we find a more permanent place, I'm just leaving things as it is. Although since we're renewing our tenancy agreement, it would be really great to make my home more "homey". Perhaps a trip to IKEA would do the trick.. and hopefully, we'll get a free home designer consultation too!
IKEA designs small spaces really well and that's exactly what I need for a small unit like mine. So I guess I'll have to see whether 2010 will bring a new look to my home! Or not! ![]()

Ceramic Tiles for Your Home
Posted by Shemah Sham | 10/31/2009 07:44:00 PM in home decor, household| 0 comments
I was watching My Celebrity Home on E! the other day and I saw some really nice ceramic tiles in one of the stores that they went into. If I can afford marble counter tops, I'd definitely go for it, but ceramic tiles can really give a rustic look and it's definitely way cheaper than marble.
Looking to make some extra cash this winter with a holiday job but have no prior experience? That's not necessarily a deal breaker for all companies. With a little persistence you'll still be able to score that perfect seasonal job - with or without a job history.
1. Look for entry level jobs - While hunting for a holiday job, look for jobs that don't require much experience. You'll have better luck getting a cashier job than you will a manager job.
2. Be willing to take a part-time job - Companies hiring for the holiday season frequently hire part-time workers. You might want a full-time job, but taking a part-time job instead can be a great way to get your foot in the door.
3. Tell employers about your strengths - You might not have any job experience, but we bet you have plenty of life experience that will come in handy in your new seasonal job. Perhaps you volunteered at a summer school or babysat your neighbors' kids. The more you tell employers about yourself in the application, the more likely they are to hire you for a seasonal job.
Find a holiday job now.
So you may or may not know that I absolutely LOVE reading! I can read and read and read and read.. it doesn't matter what genre it is, I love it! Whether it's a suspense/thriller fiction, or contemporary romance, or period romance, or biographies, or self help, I'll read them all.
So it comes as no surprise why the Barnes and Nobles Nook eReader is on the top of my wishlist right now!! I WANT ONE!!
The B&N Nook is the world's most advanced eReader that allows you to store all your ebooks into this amazing gadget. It has a built in space of 2GB that allows roughly 1,500 books but if THAT's not enough.. you can get a MicroSD memory card that will allow you some 17,500 ebooks! You can bring a whole library in your handbag!
With the Nook's easy-to-read E Ink® display, it's more like a traditional book than a computer screen. With no glare or backlight, and adjustable text size, you can read comfortably for hours.
Ohh I can go on and on and on about this. But check out how cool it is, anyway..
UNFORTUNATELY for me though
It's up for pre-order and retails for about $259. It will be released on 30th November 2009! So, how about it? Anyone wants to get one for me???

Diamonds Are Forever..

Anyways, for all my single ladies out there, just because you're not in the market for a diamond engagement ring doesn't mean that Adolf Jewelers doesn't have something for you. As the leading Richmond jewelry store for years, they've got a huge selection of Richmond diamonds that are perfect for every occasion. Richmond watches, necklaces, bracelets, and rings without the word engagement in front of them can all be had at great prices and with amazing service when you visit Adolf Jewelers.
For the men, I'm sure they can find something they like over at the Richmond Watch Store if the thought of Richmond Diamond Engagement Rings gives them cold feet!
So why buy from one of those online stores only to get a piece that doesn't look nearly as good as it did in the picture when you can visit Adolf Jewelers and know exactly what you're getting when you walk out the door.
Just recently, I have been mulling over the idea of setting up my own business. With the current economy, it's hard to depend only on one source of income. You've just got to find ways and means to earn as much as you can. However, also due to the current economy, it's not easy setting up a business not knowing whether you'll sink or swim.
Which is why, franchise businesses are the way to go if you have the budget for it. If I had the money, I'd definitely want to open a River Island (UK) boutique over here. My sister was the one who told me about it and I think it'll be a smash hit over here!
If you're indecisive and unsure about what business suits you best, there are a lot of consultants that helps individuals who want to own their own business to understand their goals, preferences, and transferable skill sets in order to match them with the franchise opportunities for which they are best suited.
Consultants like Mr. Thom Crimans for franchises Louisville, KY will do exactly that. Thom is the co-author of “Franchising 101”, has personally owned and operated and successfully sold several different franchise businesses. So if you're in Louisville, Kentucky and want to build a franchise business, you might want to check out franchise Louisville, KY for more information.
Hollywood celebrities flock down to Cabo, San Lucas whenever they get a chance. With their crates of money and the power to pull favors left and right, they still choose Cabo over any place in the world. Even when the H1N1 flu was at its peak, it didn't deter celebs from going to Cabo.
Looking at the beautiful sandy beaches of Cabo, the luxury of the resort, the sun, the sea.... I totally get it. Besides, I guess they can get medical travel Mexico services, which caters for Americans traveling abroad for medical care nore than any other hospital network in the world.

2. Come out, come out wherever you are.
3. I want to get far away from the food and shed these pounds!!
4. I finally own my perfect dream home.. indeed; this was a dream.
5. But as for me I find that my ideas come to me best when I'm dead tired and almost fast asleep.. which almost always makes me forget what they were.
6. People sometimes think I come from either Philippines or Thailand. I'm Malaysian!!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching some DVDs with J, tomorrow my plans include attending Buddy's friend's birthday party and Sunday, I want to continue tumblr-ing!

Screwed Up Health Plans
Posted by Shemah Sham | 10/21/2009 06:02:00 PM in fitness and health| 0 comments
My mother recently got a bit of a health scare recently when she was experiencing some sharp jabbing chest pains. She consulted her doctor who suspected that she might have some slight blockage and asked her to do an angiogram to check it out further.
I guess as seeing as how my mom is a heath freak, it was quite a shock although I don't know why I'm not surprised as seeing as how my grandma had heart problems during her later years. It hereditary it seems. ![]()
Anyways, that was a wake up call for my mom and she decided to check out some health insurance plans. It's actually pretty hard to get a health plan here (like the Blue Advantage Health Plan) if you have high risk diseases such as high blood, diabetes or whether cancer runs in your family. I think it's ridiculous because these are the type of people who actually NEED insurance coverage. ![]()
It's so weird. Instead, these insurance companies would rather cover people who are healthy as a horse.. I guess less chances for them to actually PAY UP.. I don't know. It just doesn't make sense to me. ![]()

Have you guys thought about your tree decorations just yet? What theme to go with? My uncle used to have different themed trees at his house. One in traditional colors, one in gold and red, one in silver and blue.. Now that he's passed on, I wonder if his children still continue his tree decorating traditions.
Anyways, for those planning to enter best home decorations this Christmas, you might want to start preparing your stuff already. Hold back on the lights, though.. you don't want your house to end up like Clark Griswald's house in National Lampoon Christmas Vacation.
I Wanna Be a Big Loser

Not like
kinda loser but yeah, I definitely wanna head on to the path of shedding off some blubber. Definitely need to reacquaint myself with mister Billy taebo-double-time Blanks.
Probably I need to photoshop myself into a slimmer version and paste it up somewhere so that I can vision myself and see how I'll look like in a month or two. Hmm.. perhaps that would motivate me even more?? ![]()
Or maybe the foul mouthed newlywed Khloe Kardashian's recent weight loss will give me a motivating boost??

Whatever it is, I'm not throwing in the towel.. yet.
When I was away on a blogging break, I believe I have missed a couple of Music Mondays and it sucks because it's hard to go a week without having a music video up on my blog. I just looove music.
Who doesn't, right?
So here's a music vid to compensate for my missed Music Mondays -Beyonce's music video of Sweet Dreams..
Dedicated to all Beyonce fans in Malaysia that were disappointed at the postponement of her concert which was SUPPOSED to be held this coming Sunday, 25th October 2009.
Yours truly here, was scheduled to attend the concert with my best girlfriend who was just dying to go. Before I knew it, she already bought my concert ticket so I won't get a chance to back out later. Needless to say, she is beyond pissed.
This just plain ol' sucks donkey balls.
Back From My Hiatus

After being MIA for about 10 days, I am back and strangely excited to be back online. Being without internet access does weird things to you. Well, at least it gave me lots of time with my piano lessons (serious newbie here!).. I don't actually own a piano, though.. but my touch response Casio CTK 3000 keyboard will suffice.
I'm eons away from playing on a Roland.
But what I am NOT eons away from is being crazy overweight. Hari Raya is over and therefore so is my excuse to binge. So bye-bye "lemang and rendang" and hello fat burners!! Urgh.. why does every topic I talk about seem to end up about my weight??
Anyways, my mind is super busy because it seems like I have a new goal for 2010!! Super excited right now and hopefully it will materialize just how I want it to!
