Sin City at Home!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 8/26/2009 05:36:00 PM in | 0 comments

Last weekend, I spent the night watching back to back "Vegas" movies.. back to back.. I watched "Hangover" and "21" (again!) and I couldn't help but feeling the pull of The Sin City after watching those movies.

Example of a Blackjack game. The top half of t...

The movies make it look so easy.. to just walk in to the casino, pick a table.. and WIN! In reality, though.. people just aren't that lucky.

So I suggest that for anyone planning a trip to Las Vegas with your friends, you might want to check out a casino online in the comfort of your own home, to sharpen your skills!

Over at TopUsaOnlineCasinos.com, you can find safe and fun online gambling destinations. Casinos are ranked by pro poker and blackjack players, according to bonus size, payout rate, customer support, number of games, deposit options, graphics and ease of use.

Who knows that with the help of online casinos, by the time you actually go to Vegas, your skills will be on a whole other level.

Just hope that you won't end up like Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms in The Hangover. Waking up missing a friend, missing a tooth, having a wife and a baby, a tiger in your hotel bathroom and not remembering one single thing! ihikhik

Blogs, blogs and more blogs!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 8/23/2009 04:16:00 PM in | 0 comments

I haven't been blogging for long.. I first started blogging in 2006 via my Friendster blog.. and then moved to Blogger in 2007.

Fast forward to 2009, I now manage 4 blogs - my personal blog, My Sweet Escape, my random stuff blog here at Never Enough Stuff, my entertainment blog, Just Press Play and my fashion blog, The Accidental Fashionista.

Traffic for all my blogs are pretty good, (well, to me, at least) and I get the highest traffic for my entertainment blog, which received close to 80 000 unique hits last July. My blogging buddy, Bill, was asking me how I do it, and there's nothing specific that I do but I can say that you can try things from web directory submission to advertising your blog but the most important part is, if you're not interested in what you're writing, chances are people won't be too. So, write what YOU want and not what you think OTHER people would like.

I don't think I am in any way qualified to give advice and I'm sure you can find better advice elsewhere but it's just my two cents on the matter of blogging.

Everything Pets!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 8/23/2009 04:01:00 PM in | 0 comments

If there is one thing that I feel would make my family more wholesome... is a PET. rindu (Not that my family is incomplete without one.. ) I just would love to own a pet. An animal that I could hug and cuddle and one that could be a companion for my kids as well. However, my family and I are allergic to pet fur, and our rhinitis/sinus will act up and it's just not worth it to get sick all the time. sedih

Anyways, for those pet owners, you might want to check out JeffersPet.com, 'coz they have the cutest stuff, from clothing, toys, pet beds for all types of pets. I saw a "cat house" that I thought was so cute and reminded me of my furry friends over at Meow Diaries and Cat Tales.

Don't you think that's just the cutest??? Well, I do!! Makes me wanna just get a pet right now.. Screw those allergies!! gatai

Nikon D700 Paparazzi Ad**

This cool paparazzi ad by Nikon showcases life size paparazzis jostling for attention at a red carpet premiere. Subject: YOU. senyumkenyit

This ad was found at a busy Seoul subway station and it looks absolutely awesome! This ad was for Nikon's D700 camera. I think if I passed through there, I'd definitely shy away from the "red carpet" even if it IS an ad. I definitely need a lesson or two in "camwhoring".

Back It Up!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 8/23/2009 03:27:00 PM in ,,| 0 comments

I turned on my laptop today and almost had an anxiety attack gigitjaribecause I thought it stalled and wouldn't turn on at all. I've had my laptop for almost 2 years now and I'm pretty sure I've been abusing her much in the past 2 years with all my uploads and downloads.

Pretty similar thing happened to my old PC.. it didn't want to reboot and it had to be reformatted and in the process, I lost all my data in there. Pictures, videos, and other important documents. nangih

You think I had learned my lesson?? Apparently not.. because I still have no back up whatsoever for my laptop and if that ever happens... *touch wood*.. I will be go berserk!! tension I think it's high time to check out the free online storage site just for the time being before I get my external drive.

Better be safe than sorry.... kenyit

Getting A Bigger Workspace..

Posted by Shemah Sham | 8/23/2009 01:21:00 AM in ,| 0 comments

This is my current working workspace. tensionI need a change! It's not that I hate it, but I'm not really feeling it either. And the above (pic) is what it looks like on a good day. Today, I'm having a bad day.. that means lots of papers and music sheets strewn about. sighI don't even have a paper tray to sort all my stuff. I don't think I've even got the space.

First of all, I can't even decide whether to use my laptop, or a computer. I hooked up a monitor and a keyboard to my laptop which is why it's my workspace is so crowded.

If only I can get a workspace like the one below, for my laptop computer, I'll be a happy woman! sengihnampakgigi

Neverlate Alarm Clock!!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 8/23/2009 12:45:00 AM in ,| 0 comments

Yesterday was the first day of fasting, and I wanted to have a last drink and some snacks before the sun rose, (fasting is from dawn til sunset) but somehow, my alarm clock didn't ring. Normally it rings loud and clear but of all days, just to test my patience, it did not.

So, naturally, that whole scenario made me google for alarm clocks and I found this Neverlate Excutive Alarm Clock!

The features include; Two separate ("his" & "hers," if you will) 7-day alarm schedules - and each of those 14 alarms can be set to a different time and ringtone (one of 4 buzzers or 20 preset radio stations). Plus another bank of every day alarms. That's 21 alarms in total! And if you get bored of the radio, you can plug in your MP3 player and listen through the clock's killer speaker - and even charge your any of your Mp3 players with the Executive Neverlate's USB port (it's a standard 5V USB port)!

I especially love the "his and hers" feature! I totally want one.. but at $59.99, I'm just not so sure..

Book of The Month: Sundays at Tiffany's**

Posted by Shemah Sham | 8/23/2009 12:08:00 AM in ,| 0 comments

I've always loved reading James Patterson books. His international best-selling books are mostly thriller novels and my favories series are his series about African-American psychologist Alex Cross as well as the Women's Murder Club. Most of his Alex Cross series, made it to the big screen, with Morgan Freeman portraying Alex Cross in Kiss The Girls and Along Came A Spider.

However, James Patterson has also churned out great contemporary romance novels like Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas, and was pleasantly surprised when I saw it was adapted into film, with Christina Applegate and Johnathan Schaech in the lead roles.

Anyways, one of his latest romance novel is Sundays at Tiffany's which he co-authored with Gabrielle Charbonnet, released back in April 2008.

Jane was a sweet, funny, chubby seven-year-old, desperatly seeking love from her self-obsessed mother, and a father who was wrapped up in a new life with his beautiful young girlfriend. Jane's only friend was handsome, funny, thirty-something Michael. He was different; no one else could see him, or believe he existed beyond the realms of Jane's very creative imagination. The pair would talk from morning until night. As Jane grew older, though, the time came for Michael to leave Jane's side.

But Jane can't forget him. More than twenty years after Michael said goodbye, Jane catches a Glimpse of that unforgotten face, her heart pounding she can't believe it is true - could it really be Michael? This time Michael isn't just a fragment of her imagination. But will the path of true love be a smooth one? And will Jane get a happily ever after?

It definitely wasn't the best of James Patterson's novels. It didn't make me "bawl like a baby" unlike "Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas" but if you're in the mood for a simple feel good love story, then you might want to pick this one up. Definitely not for those looking for a literature masterpiece. kenyit

Cool Water Filter Jug!!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 8/22/2009 11:52:00 PM in ,| 0 comments

Living in the city, the one kitchen appliance that you MUST have is a water filter. I don't know why, but the water from the tap is just very unclean and unfiltered that you must have one attached to your sink for clean drinking water. However, there are so many water filters out in the market nowadays, that it's just so hard to choose which one is the best.

But I saw this cool Brita water filter jug that I like. Probably I don't have to spend so much on a water filter contraption and just get this instead. It has a 4-step filtration as well as limescale reduction. It also it reduces other substances such as chlorine, which affect the taste and odour in your tap water, reduces aluminium and certain heavy metals (like copper and lead) along with certain pesticides. Organic impurities are also reduced. Retails for about £29.95!

Pretty cool eh??

Ramadhan Is Here!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 8/22/2009 11:30:00 PM in ,| 0 comments

Ramadhan is finally here! That means, fasting has started and I am pleased to say that the first day went extremely well for me and I hope that the rest of the month goes pleasantly well! :)

Ramadhan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, and indulging in anything that is in excess or ill-natured; from dawn until sunset.

Fasting is meant to teach Muslims patience, modesty and spirituality. During Ramaḍān, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds. As compared to solar calendar, the dates of Ramadan vary, moving forward about ten days each year. Ramadhan was the month in which the first verses ofthe Qur'an were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

So with all this fasting, I think I don't even have to think about any weight loss pills! Not eating from dawn until dusk will do the job provided that I don't turn into a glutton from dusk till dawn! LOL!

Anyways, to all Muslims around the world, I'd like to wish you Happy Ramadan and Happy Fasting!!

5 Best Places to Vacation in USA

Posted by Shemah Sham | 8/05/2009 08:45:00 PM in | 0 comments

I've been meaning to plan a visit to the US for some time now. I still have family there, and I sure would like to go back and revisit the place where I once grew up. Also, I would love to go for a proper family vacation and after scouring the web, I saw this list of the 5 Best Places to Vacation in the US.

1) Orlando, Florida - With major attractions like Walt Disney World, Sea World Orlando, Universal Studios, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, etc. you would have a wonderful fun packed time with your family! There's nothing like experiencing these orlando vacations at least once in your life.

2) Las Vegas, Nevada - Dubbed the 'Entertainment Capital of The World', what else can you ask for?? Although you might want to leave the kids at home with family!

3) Grand Canyon, Arizona - For an outdoorsy and adventurous vacation with your family, there's nothing better than experiencing hiking and rafting at the wild and beautiful outdoors at the Grand Canyon National Park! I remember this place as one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Recommendable for vacations with teenage children.

4) San Francisco, California - An amazing place for those who enjoy celebrating life experiencing different cultures, love performing arts, museums, etc.. San Francisco is the place for you. Major attractions include Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Exploratorium Museum, etc.

5) New York City - Whether you love high fashion, city life, arts, history or basically a mix of everything, New York is the best! With places like The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Bronx Zoo, Washington Square Park, The Statue of Liberty and more places to go to, 2 weeks might not even be enough!

We traveled to all these places when I was younger but there's nothing like experiencing AND remembering every bit of the journey when you're older!

This week's Music Monday is dedicated to my super ladies.. my best friends, online and offline. You know who you are. Just know that through it all.. your ups and downs.. I'll be here for you! I love you guys!!
