Moving Out

Posted by Shemah Sham | 7/28/2009 11:11:00 AM in ,| 0 comments

Packing up and moving to another place is definitely stressful. Just ask LJ, who recently moved to another pad. It's absolutely hectic and emotionally draining, and your current place will be a sea of moving boxes.

Speaking of boxes, did you know that you can purchase cheap moving boxes that are built out of strong and sturdy doublewall construction?? The last time I moved, I just went down to the storage area of the supermarket and asked them for spare clean boxes. LOL!

But seriously, you can purchase special moving boxes nowadays, specially built to protect your stuff and some specially made for you wardrobe, just like this:

Maybe if I were moving my stuff long haul, I'll get a set of moving boxes, but if I'm just gonna move nearby, then supermarket staff get ready!!

MM: Afterglow - INXS

I just love this song by INXS. It's not that I prefer current leading man, JD Fortune to the late Michael Hutchence.. but I just think this song is beautiful..

The music video for this song features Estella Warren, former synchronized swimmer, fashion model and actress. Remember her in Planet of The Apes?

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy this one! Happy Music Monday, everybody!!

Accidental Humor!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 7/24/2009 04:03:00 PM in ,| 0 comments

You would NOT believe the crazy and hilarious things people write down on their car insurance claim forms. Some of them are just downright ridiculous!! Here's a couple of TRUE STATEMENTS by insurance policy holders.

# The other car collided with mine without giving warning of its intention.

# I had been shopping for plants all day and was on my way home. As I reached an intersection a hedge sprang up, obscuring my vision and I did not see the other car.

# I was on the way to the doctor with rear end trouble when my universal joint gave way causing me to have an accident.

# As I approached an intersection a sign suddenly appeared in a place where no stop sign had ever appeared before. I was unable to stop in time to avoid the accident.

gelakguling

As for who or what caused the accidents, these are what some people had to say:

# The indirect cause of the accident was a little guy in a small car with a big mouth.

# I was going at about 70 or 80 mph when my girlfriend on the pillion reached over and grabbed my testicles so I lost control.

# On approach to the traffic lights the car in front suddenly broke.

ihikhik

So to all you policyholders out there, you might wanna double check what you've written. Speaking of insurance, you might want to check out these life insurance rates. Nowadays, you can really get affordable rates for life insurances that won't burn a hole in your wallet! I pay just a small amount for mine that doesn't hurt my finances at all!

To All My Single Ladies..**

Posted by Shemah Sham | 7/23/2009 06:52:00 PM in | 0 comments

What I'm gonna say next in this post is in the best interest of every single "single" woman out there. I don't intend to hurt or insult any of you with this post.. I might not know how it feels being single but I believe that there is a right person out there for everyone.. One that's not a woman beater, a drunkard, or just a downright plain jerk.

It doesn't matter if you prefer not to go out on dates and instead just stay home chillaxin' or whatever.. Just promise me that you're not at home snuggling with THIS! It's equally awful as those guys and their life-size blow up dolls..

No offense intended.. but these things are a no-no!!

Occupational Hazards

Posted by Shemah Sham | 7/22/2009 06:03:00 PM in | 0 comments

For those of you who don't know or haven't heard of mesothelioma cancer before, then you might want to read on a little bit more. Mesothelioma is a type of cancer of the serous membranes that surround many of the body’s vital organs. The only known cause for this cancer is due to exposure to asbestos or asbestos products.

There are so many occupations that are exposed to high amounts of asbestos.. Among them are, laborers, auto mechanics, engineers, carpenters, plumbers, welders, insulators, sailers, etc.

While many uses for asbestos were banned in the mid-1970’s, the risk from exposure continues to this day because of mesothelioma’s long latency and incubation period of anywhere between 10 – 70 years. Today, asbestos continues to be a threat to workers exposed through their occupations and in buildings that were erected or renovated prior to the ban. - MesotheliomaHelp.net

Therefore, for those who are diagnosed with this cancer, unknowingly exposed while in line of duty, you might want to contact Mesothelioma lawyers for legal support or any questions you might have regarding this disease.

Almonds for Weight Loss

Posted by Shemah Sham | 7/22/2009 04:51:00 PM in ,| 0 comments

Right! So as you may or may not know, I am on a 3-month BD challenge and I am educating myself on what the best foods are for those on their journey to weight loss. Truth be told, I have been educating myself for the past 5 years but then again, educating and practicing are not one and the same. You can read law books all you want but that doesn't make you a lawyer right?

So anyways, back to ALMONDS.

According to FitnessMagazine,

Almonds contain filling protein and fiber, not to mention vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant. They're also a good source of magnesium, a mineral your body must have in order to produce energy, build and maintain muscle tissue, and regulate blood sugar. "A stable blood-sugar level helps prevent cravings that can lead to overeating and weight gain," says David Katz, MD, a professor at the Yale University School of Medicine. But what makes almonds most interesting is their ability to block calories. Research indicates that the composition of their cell walls may help reduce the absorption of all of their fat, making them an extra-lean nut.

You can take all the diet pills that work but in the end, it's your food habits and your lifestyle that really gives you the best state of health. Body, mind and soul!

If you're allergic to nuts, then stay tuned for updates on Never Enough Stuff.. because I've got a lot more tips on weight loss coming up in the future!!

Last Train Home**

Okay.. so I missed out on this week's Music Monday but I still need some musical lovin' on NES and since I didn't want to go through much trouble choosing a song, I decided to recycle one of my old MM choices. What? Most of you probably haven't even gotten around to my MM choices on Just Press Play anyways, right?

So here's Last Train Home by Ryan Star!!

Ryan Star was a contestant way back during Rockstar Supernova and I absolutely loved his performance of R.E.M's Losing My Religion.

The better singer and performer, Lukas Rossi won Rockstar Supernova but I still think that Ryan Star is an amazing performer and looking forward to listen to more!! Hope you enjoy it too! kenyit

Blogaholic Chocoholic!!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 7/20/2009 05:25:00 PM in ,| 0 comments

I am officially on a diet starting from this day forth. A diet that consists of less blogging/tweeting/online activities as well as less eating. For 3 months!

For now, the balance between my family, children and blogging are at a balance. However, that leaves hardly any room for me to pursue my "dream hobby" Therefore, the only way I can pursue that, is if I spend less time online.

As for the less eating bit, a couple of other bloggers and I have decided to do a before/after diet challenge for 3 months and I think having other friends with me on it is a better motivation for me to actually have to stick to it! I'm gonna do it the hard way, and after 3 months and I still haven't lost these unwanted pounds yet, then I might have to resort to pure ephedra! Supposedly, it's said to help shed unwanted pounds easily.. but I'm still sticking to the old "eat well and exercise more" routine.

But no worries, I am not gonna go completely missing from the blogosphere/twitterverse, so I won't go all delusional and dream of chocolate keyboards just yet!

Disney Stock Certificate Gift!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 7/20/2009 04:49:00 PM in ,| 0 comments

Whenever I plan to get a gift for someone, I always think about how that person can actually use the gift for many many more years. I think I got that from my late grandmother. She'll give us alarm clocks, books, and other very useful stuff for our birthdays. Things that we actually need, as opposed to things that we actually want. ihikhik

One thing though that's really a cool gift and a gift that is becoming a trend nowadays, are stock shares. For example, you can buy one share of stock from public traded companies, like Disney, for instance, in the form of a certificate. Then the Disney stock certificate will be framed (which includes engraving) and give it as a gift for your loved ones this Christmas.

Then at least your gifts will have more value over time! duit Not only is it a unique gift but it makes for great conversation during Christmas parties. I'm sure a lot of people would find it as a really interesting and valuable gift as well.

So if you're interested in it, you can get your disney stock purchase or other stock purchases framed and ready at ShareInAFrame.com! sengihnampakgigi

MM: No Rain - Blind Melon

Posted by Shemah Sham | 7/13/2009 12:49:00 AM in ,,| 0 comments

Another one of my favorite songs growing up was No Rain by Blind Melon. This song and video especially was sorta my anthem when I was battling low self esteem! LOL! Sadly, the lead singer of Blind Melon, Shannon Hoon, died prematurely at the age of 28 due to a drug overdose. RIP Shannon.

Enjoy the song!

What I'm Craving..

Posted by Shemah Sham | 7/06/2009 06:42:00 PM in | 0 comments

I am so hungry right now I could eat a mammoth! Seriously, I cooked and fed the kids but I haven't taken anything yet. I feel like eating something else, other than rice and "normal food". Right now, I feel like having:

Fresh oysters for my appetizer:

Lobster thermidor or grilled lamb chops for my main course..

Creme brulee at Barcelona Tapas Y Cava or the chocolate brownie at Fish 'n' Co for dessert..

Oh yeaaahh.. that's what I feel like having right now!!! lapar But of course, there's just no way I'll be able to have any of those today. Besides, just thinking of the calories makes me nervous! LOL! Even the best diet pills on the market wouldn't be able to help me then. But I want!!!!

sigh

Maybe not tonight....

MM: Supermassive Black Hole - Muse

Okay... so since I'm already still reeling from the impact of reading the Twilight series, here's another song from the movie soundtrack of Twilight. They have a pretty mean soundtrack for a pretty corny movie.

Here's one of my faves from the whole movie, Supermassive Black Hole by Muse.

Twilight and Casinos!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 7/04/2009 09:41:00 AM in ,| 0 comments

I thought I'd never say this, but I am starting to get addicted to Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga books. It just happened one day when my dear friend Ane and Debbs were excitedly discussing it that I decided to go ahead and read it too.

However, I never expected to be really enthralled with the book at all. I don't know why I had that mindset, but after reading it, I was pleasently surprised. I finished Twilight in a day, New Moon in a day and now I'm on to Eclipse.

Traffic flying by the New York, New York Casin...

The way I'm addicted to it, one might think I was hooked on online casinos or something. Since I'm reading the e-books, I have been pretty much motionless in front of t
he computer. Don't fret, though. I am still functioning well. In fact, I am aware that my other blogging buddy, Bill, has already left for his vacation to Las Vegas.
I'm sure he's enjoying himself over there. I know I would. There's nothing like US Casinos to promise you the time of your life!!

Don't Forget To Take Your Vits!

Posted by Shemah Sham | 7/01/2009 12:35:00 PM in | 0 comments

The problem with obesity in today's community is becoming as rampant as ever. I'm not surprised. Everywhere I turn, fast food eateries are popping up like mushrooms. My other half has been increasingly bothered by recent passings of his friends.. all in their late 30s or early 40s.

Now, with all this pandemic flu alert going around, it's time for us to take our health seriously. It seems gone are the days that people live to the age of 80+ and that's a worrying thought. My late grandma swore on taking daily supplements.

Among many that she took daily were Omega 3 health supplements. Since she had developed heart problems in her 70s, she started taking them religiously and she did believe that it made her stronger. Fish oil omega 3 fatty acids contain docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) that are believed to have health benefits and help against cardiovascular diseases, boosting your immune system, boosting brain health, and prevent rheumatoid arthritis.

However, many over the counter Omega 3 health supplements seem are less impure in a sense that the concentration of pure Omega 3s are mized with unnecessary oils. At the Omax3.com website, you'll be able to find fish oil supplements that contain as high as 92% of Omega 3.

I have to go with my late grandma on this one. She passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years old due to old age and didn't suffer from Alzheimer's. Her advice to me was: Don't forget to take your vitamins. So I won't. :)
