Upon doing my EC rounds, I stumbled upon Justin Germino's blog, and read his thoughts on audiobooks.
The only audiobooks that I've ever listened to, were those that came with a nursery rhyme book. They used to have cassettes accompanying children's books those days, right? Now, they've upgraded to CDs and DVDs.
Anyways, as I was saying, Justin was talking about how listening to audiobooks are one of his favorite hobbies. Being a busy person with 1001 things to do before the day is over, reading is just not a privilege anymore. So he resorts to audiobooks. Among some of the audiobooks that he recommended was, the Harry Potter series - narrated by Jim Dale.
Since I am such a Harry Potter fan AND the fact that my kid sister uses me to tell her the story (she's too lazy to read 'em herself), I thought I should try and get a hold of it and see how it is. So I did. And it's pretty awesome. I got the whole set from Book 1 to Book 7 and listening to it right now. Well, not NOW now........ it's on pause.
So for those either lazy to read, don't have time to read, or don't have anything better to do, you might wanna try listening to it! It's really cool, actually..
Although as Justin said, if you choose a bad one, it will really ruin your first audiobook experience. Some of his other recommendations were Stephen King's books narrated by George Guidall or Frank Muller. If you're into sci-fi, check out the Star Wars or Star Trek series.
Downloading audiobooks are also formatted to be compatible with your iPod, so it's definitely a plus! Well, with you guys being the download masters, I guess I won't have to tell you where to go to download them, huh? ;)
I hope you give it a try.. don't say you wouldn't like it unless you haven't tried!
